Page Passwords

Page Passwords Overview

If you need to limit access of a webpage to a group of people (including "groups of one"), page passwords add the layer of privacy that you need.

To set this up, you'll first need to create at least one "Page Password Group", then you will need to set each protected page to restrict access to only the group(s) that you select.  Here's how...

Adding A Page Password Group

1. Navigate to the "Page Passwords" page.  If you do not see this option, your account most likely does not have access to add page passwords.

Limiting Page Access

Once you have created at least one "Password Group", you can limit access of pages to only the group(s) you select.  Here's how to set restrictions on a particular page.

1. Sign in to Blueprint, then navigate to the "Pages" section. Find the page you'd like to add restrictions to, then click the "Edit Page" icon.

2. Click the "Page Settings" button in the toolbar at the top of the page.

Navigate to the "Advanced" tab you should see an option that says "Restrict Access To Only...", followed by a dropdown list of each "Password Group" you have added.  If you do not see this option, you either do not have access or have yet to add a password group.  Select the group(s) you would like to allow access to.  If you select none, then the page will be publicly accessible.  When you're done, click "Save" then save the page.

3. Visit the page.  You will now be prompted to enter a password to access the page.  For convenience, you only have to enter your password one time in order to access all pages that the group is allowed to view.  Keep this in mind when you are testing to see if the page is password protected.  If you have already entered the password for a different page, you will not be prompted to enter it again.  Instead, to verify that the page is password protected look for the "lock" icon next to the page name on the "Pages" page in Blueprint.
