Editing Page Settings

Launching the Page Settings

If you want to change the name of your page, update your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) settings, or make any other changes to the page settings, the following tutorials will show you how. For each tutorial below, these will be the first two steps:

1. Sign in to Blueprint, then navigate to the "Pages" section. Click on the "edit" icon next to the page you wish to change (to the right of the page listing). The page will now load in "edit mode".

2. Once the page has finished loading, click the "Page Settings" button in the top-right corner of the page. The Page Settings dialog will appear.

Editing Search engine optimization (SEO) Settings

Follow these steps to update your website's search engine optimization settings.

1. Follow the steps for Launching the Page Settings above.

2. Under the SEO tab, update your "HTML Title", "META Description", and "META Keywords" settings.

  • The HTML Title is the text that will appear on the tab in a web browser; it is also the text that will appear on your Google search listing for the page. The main keyword you would like to rank well for should appear here.
  • The META Description is the text that will appear as the description of your Google search listing for the page. It is a good idea to include the main keyword that you would like to rank well for in this paragraph.
  • The META Keywords section isn't used much these days, but if you'd like to list the keywords that you feel are relevant to the page, please do so here (don't add too many, especially repetitive words, or you could actually do more harm than good).

3. Once you're done, click the Save button. To save and close the Page Settings dialog. If you're all finished editing the page, you can also click the Save button in the top-left corner of your screen (if you skip this step, no changes will be saved).

Editing Your page's link

Follow these steps to update the link to your web page. Please keep in mind that if you're changing an existing page, all links to that page will need to be updated to reflect the new link.

1. Follow the steps for Launching the Page Settings above.

2. Under the Advanced tab, update your "Page Path". There are a few basic rules:

  • No spaces or special characters are allowed; just letters, numbers, underscores, dashes, and periods. Everything else will simply be removed.
  • The link must begin with a "/".
  • The link must end with ".php" (please note it is already added for you).

3. Once you're done, click the Save button. To save and close the Page Settings dialog. If you're all finished editing the page, you can also click the Save button in the top-left corner of your screen (if you skip this step, no changes will be saved).

4. Update any existing links to the page (from other pages, or even other websites).
